The Target Pay Range for this position is $26\.00- $33\.00 annually. At Antech, pay decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, education, training and budget

Essential Job Functions

The Formulator is responsible for performing formulation activities, including the preparation of production materials for microarray printing, cartridge processing, and related manufacturing activities. This position supports the development and production of diagnostic products utilizing Antech's proprietary diagnostic platform.

Responsibilities include:

  • Work closely with manufacturing staff during production activities to ensure efficient operations and successful transfer of manufacturing processes.
  • Assist in developing new formulation processes and improving existing processes related to the preparation and handling of biological reagents used in diagnostic products.
  • Participate in scaling biological formulations for manufacturing, developing procedural documentation, and designing quality control methods for both raw materials and finished products.
  • Accurately document laboratory activities, process results, and experimental outcomes in accordance with quality system requirements.
  • Communicate findings, recommendations, and technical observations to senior scientists, engineering teams, and management.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on product quality, manufacturing efficiency, and process robustness.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable quality, safety, and regulatory standards.

Education And Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline from an accredited university.
  • Two (2) to four (4) years of experience producing biological formulations or reagents in a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of wet-laboratory techniques including precision measurements, spectroscopy, immunoassays, and biological reagent preparation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to accurately document work and follow standard operating procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while maintaining high attention to detail.
  • Experience with antibody purification, chromatography, bioconjugation chemistries, or diagnostic instrumentation involving microarrays, fluid handling systems, and fluorescence microscopy is strongly preferred.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in both office and laboratory environments.

Office responsibilities require sitting, standing, computer use, telephone communication, and occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds.

Laboratory work includes handling biological materials, reagents, chemicals, and production equipment. Personnel may work with biohazardous or potentially infectious materials in Biosafety Level 2 (BSL-2) laboratory environments and are required to follow all laboratory safety protocols and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements. Laboratory duties include visual inspection of manufacturing processes and occasional lifting or carrying of materials up to 25 pounds.
