Information Technology Architect

Profectus is seeking experienced architects and designers for a major Australian Government program. These roles suit people who can shape enterprise, solution and system-level designs and translate complex business and policy needs into clear, secure, buildable solutions, working closely with stakeholders and delivery partners.

• Enterprise Architects
• Solution Architects
• Solution Designers

Key Responsibilities

• Design and communicate enterprise, solution and system-level architectures that meet current and future business needs
• Translate business and policy requirements into target-state designs, roadmaps and reusable patterns
• Define API, integration and data-exchange patterns aligned to enterprise and cloud standards
• Produce high-level and detailed design artefacts, models and specifications
• Provide design assurance and guidance, reviewing solutions for alignment to architecture, security and standards
• Balance functional, non-functional, service-quality and security requirements, resolving complex design issues
• Engage stakeholders and delivery teams to guide implementation and maintain design integrity

Required Experience

• Proven experience developing enterprise or solution architectures and detailed system designs in large, complex environments
• Strong knowledge of integration, API-first and cloud architecture patterns
• Experience embedding security-by-design and aligning to enterprise standards and reference architectures
• Australian Government experience as a minimum, with strong stakeholder engagement and documentation skills
• Ability to operate effectively both independently and within integrated, multi-vendor delivery teams

Desirable Experience

• Design and assurance experience aligned to the ISM, PSPF and Essential Eight
• Familiarity with the Australian Government Architecture (AGA) reuse expectations and Digital Service Standard principles
• Relevant architecture certifications (e.g. TOGAF, cloud architecture)

Security Clearance Requirements

• Must be an Australian Citizen
• Must hold a Baseline security clearance (minimum)

Working Arrangements

• Hybrid; predominantly onsite with periodic work from home where appropriate
• Canberra preferred
• Candidates based in VIC, NSW, SA or QLD may also be considered
