About the Role
We are hiring a Business Analyst to work alongside our Product Manager and turn support escalations and regulatory changes into clear, well-scoped work for engineering. This is a mid-level role for someone with a few years of analyst or product experience who can operate with limited oversight and knows how to prioritize when everything feels urgent. You will coordinate day to day across engineering, customer experience, and our integration partners.
What You'll Do
- Write clear, well-structured tickets in Jira, including user stories, bugs, and tasks with acceptance criteria, and keep the product backlog organized and prioritized.
- Triage customer-reported issues escalated from our support tool (Zendesk), reproduce and document them, spot recurring themes, and translate them into prioritized work for the product and engineering teams.
- Monitor and manage our third-party integration channels, tracking issues raised by integration partners and coordinating follow-up with the right internal owners.
- Research industry news and regulatory changes that affect our product and customers, and summarize what matters for the team.
- Gather and document requirements, map current and future state workflows, and identify opportunities to improve them.
- Coordinate user acceptance testing and validate fixes and features before they ship.
- Partner with the Product Manager on backlog refinement, sprint planning, and release readine
ss.
How You'll Work
We care more about judgment than volume. You will use AI and other tools to move fast, and you take responsibility for the quality of everything that leaves your hands. In practice that means:
- You verify before you assert. You check claims against the primary source rather than trusting a summary, an AI answer, or a secondhand report, especially on regulatory or customer-facing details, and you can tell a solid lead from a confirmed fact.
- You keep work focused. You know what a ticket is about and what it is not, and you flag open questions instead of guessing.
- You write clean, clear, precise ticket summaries, with the right detail in the right place.
- You are direct. When something is a risk or a problem, you name it early and clearly.
- You are careful with live systems. You make changes in tools like Jira deliberately, and you check that they saved the way you intended.
What You'll Bring
- Three to five years of experience in business analysis, product or project coordination, customer support operations, or a similar role.
- A track record of owning your work and managing competing priorities with limited direction.
- Strong analytical skills and clear written and verbal communication.
- Experience documenting requirements or processes and working across teams.
- Sharp attention to detail and the judgment to know when something needs a second look.
- A bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent practical experi
ence.
Nice to Have
- Hands-on experience with Jira, Zendesk, or Confluence.
- Familiarity with Agile or Scrum delivery.
- Working knowledge of SQL, Excel, or a reporting and BI tool.
- Experience in cannabis technology, retail Point of Sale (POS), or another regulated industry, and familiarity with compliance or traceability systems such as Metrc. This is not required, and you will build deeper domain knowledge on the job, but candidates who already understand this space will have an edge.
- A business analysis certification such as ECBA, CBAP, or CSPO.
