About The Role
The Senior Accountant at Imaginuity plays a pivotal role in supporting the company’s financial operations by preparing accurate and timely financial statements for the organization and its subsidiaries. This position requires a detail-oriented professional with experience in the advertising industry and proficiency with NetSuite or similar ERP systems. The Senior Accountant will report directly to the Senior Accounting Manager and will be responsible for managing various accounting functions, including general ledger review, account reconciliations, and financial analysis. The role offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute to a growing company while enhancing their expertise in a fast-paced environment. The position is hybrid, allowing for a flexible work arrangement that balances remote work with in-office collaboration in Dallas, TX.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A minimum of five years of professional accounting experience within a fast-paced environment is required. The ideal candidate will demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, a strong sense of ownership, and a commitment to adding value through their work. Professionalism and discretion are essential when handling confidential information. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary to effectively liaise with team members and management. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (including lookups, pivots, and formulas), is required. A solid understanding of US GAAP principles is essential, and experience with NetSuite or other advanced ERP systems such as Sage, SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics is preferred. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills will ensure success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Own the month-end close process for assigned entities, including general ledger review, account flux analysis, reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Perform detailed analysis of the balance sheet and income statement, providing explanations for significant variances.
- Review project profitability reports and collaborate with client teams to ensure accuracy and transparency.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and ensure timely roll-forward of reconciliations.
- Proactively identify and resolve discrepancies or balancing issues to maintain accurate financial records.
- Manage monthly client billing processes and oversee collections efforts to ensure timely payments.
- Review employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies outlined in the employee handbook.
- Assist with tax compliance activities, including sales and use taxes, property taxes, personal property renditions, and 1099 processing.
- Provide backup support for accounts payable functions, including vendor payments, bill processing, and mail handling.
- Participate in process improvements and system enhancements to streamline financial operations.
- Document standard operating procedures related to month-end close and internal controls.
- Perform additional accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as assigned by the Senior Accounting Manager, Controller, or CFO to support organizational goals.
