Warehouse Manager

Roles and Responsibilities of a Warehouse Manager

  • Maintain accurate inventory of thousands of SKUs ( Automobile Spare parts, etc.).
  • Ensure ABC classification based on movement and value.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels to avoid stock-outs and overstocking.
  • Monitor aging, dead inventory, obsolete stock, and seasonal demand.
  • Implement cycle counting, bin accuracy, and root‑cause analysis for discrepancies.
  • Ensure correct binning, shelving, and location control using SAP. 🔹 2\. Inbound Operations – Receiving \& QC
  • Oversee unloading, verification, and put‑away of parts from central distribution centers or suppliers.
  • Conduct visual inspection, packaging quality checks, and damage reporting.
  • Ensure accurate GRN (Goods Receipt Note) processing and documentation.
  • Prioritize storage of high‑value parts under secure conditions. 🔹 3\. Order Processing \& Dealer/Retail Fulfillment
  • Manage picking, packing, and dispatch for:
  • Dealerships
  • Service centers
  • Retail shops
  • Maintain pick accuracy and on‑time dispatch.
  • Implement batch picking, zone picking, and wave picking to reduce TAT.
  • Ensure correct handling of fragile items. 🔹 4\. Return Parts Management (RMA)
  • Manage returnable parts from dealers and workshops.
  • Inspect, classify, and process:
  • Warranty parts
  • Vendor returns
  • Scrap items 🔹 5\. Safety, Compliance \& 6S
  • Implement 6S, Lean, and Kaizen practices to maintain workplace discipline.
  • Ensure safety protocols for handling:
  • Lubricants \& oils / Batteries / Chemicals / Sharp body panels
  • Maintain compliance with ISO/automotive quality standards 🔹 6\. Packaging \& Quality Assurance
  • Ensure use of OEM‑standard packaging materials.
  • Prevent damages by implementing specialized packing standards.
  • Conduct random audits on picked orders. 🔹 7\. Logistics Coordination
  • Plan daily dispatch schedules for dealer and distributor orders. 🔹 8\. Warehouse Layout Optimization
  • Design layout for maximum storage utilization and efficient retrieval.
  • Separate storage based on:
  • Fast‑moving parts
  • Bulky items (bumpers, windshields)
  • Hazardous goods
  • High‑value electronics
  • Implement FIFO, FEFO, or LIFO where applicable. 🔹 9\. People Leadership \& Workforce Management
  • Oversee supervisors, pickers, packers, forklift operators, and data-entry teams.
  • Manage shift planning, productivity, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure strict adherence to SOPs and safety practices. 🔹 10\. MIS \& KPI Management
  • Order Fulfillment Rate (OFR)
  • Picking Accuracy %
  • Inventory Accuracy %
  • Damages and Returns Rate
  • Space Utilization
  • Team Management
  • Supervise warehouse supervisors, storekeepers, and labor staff.
  • Allocate daily tasks and monitor productivity.
  • Conduct training on safety, material handling, and system usage.
