Your new role

As Head of Procurement, you will lead and develop a team of Category and Sourcing Managers, setting priorities, performance expectations and annual objectives. You will oversee the delivery of strategic procurement activities across a complex portfolio, ensuring category strategies, sourcing decisions and supplier relationships align with organisational goals. This is a strategic role suited to a commercial leader who thrives in a busy, collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing, implementing and maintaining complex category strategies
• Securing governance approvals and ensuring assurance requirements are met
• Leading supplier relationship management and contract management
• Driving efficiency, sustainability, value for money and continuous improvement
• Building strong relationships with senior stakeholders across the organisation
• Providing expert commercial advice to procurement teams and wider departments

What you'll need to succeed

• Extensive experience developing and delivering category management strategies
• Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop high‑performing procurement teams
• Strong influencing and stakeholder‑engagement skills at all levels
• Commercial acumen and the ability to identify and deliver improvement opportunities
• Experience managing a varied, complex procurement portfolio
• Excellent coordination, organisation and prioritisation skills
• A collaborative leadership style and commitment to continuous improvement
