SUMMARY:

We’re recruiting on behalf of a client seeking a skilled and experienced HVAC Technician to service, maintain, and repair air‑conditioning and refrigeration systems across multiple sites in Gauteng. This is a hands‑on technical role suited for a qualified professional passionate about delivering high‑quality cooling and heating solutions.

Job \& Company Description:

Our client is looking for a competent HVAC Technician to join their operations team, providing expert support across commercial and industrial facilities.

The successful candidate will diagnose, service, repair, and maintain a wide range of HVAC and refrigeration systems, ensure compliance with safety standards, maintain accurate documentation, and deliver excellent customer service while working both independently and within a team.

The role involves fieldwork across various sites, with occasional after‑hours and emergency call‑outs.

Education:

• Red Seal Commercial Air‑Conditioning Trade Qualification (mandatory)
• Safe Handling Practitioner Certificate (optional)
• Valid driver’s licence with a minimum of 3 years’ driving experience (mandatory)

Job Experience \& Skills Required:

Experience:

• 3–5 years’ experience as an HVAC \& Refrigeration Technician post‑trade qualification
• Strong exposure to commercial systems, including:

+ Chilled Water Systems

+ Single‑phase \& Three‑phase Motors

+ VRV/VRF Systems

+ Split Units / DX Systems

+ Refrigeration Systems

+ Air Handling Units

• Experience handling multiple sites or project portfolios
• Oversight of small teams (advantageous)

Technical Skills:

• Mastery of HVAC \& refrigeration troubleshooting and system operations
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and perform basic electrical repairs
• Strong diagnostic and equipment maintenance capability

Soft Skills:

• High attention to detail
• Strong customer communication and client‑facing professionalism
• Team collaboration and clear reporting
• Strong problem‑solving and adaptability

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and troubleshoot faults on HVAC systems
• Perform preventative maintenance \& repairs on air‑conditioning and refrigeration equipment (cold rooms, split units, package units)
• Handle minor HVAC installations
• Ensure compliance with Health \& Safety and OSHA requirements
• Maintain accurate service records and technical documentation
• Interact professionally with clients and provide updates
• Mentor junior technicians
• Be available for emergency call‑outs and extended hours when required
