We’re hiring a Forward Deployed Rust Engineer. Someone who can operate close to the problem, not just the codebase. You’ll work directly with users, contributors, and customers to:

• Understand real constraints
• Build production-grade systems in Rust
• Deploy, iterate, and refine in fast cycles ⸻ What You’ll Do 1\. Build in Rust (Core)
• Design and implement high-performance systems in Rust
• Work on components where latency, memory safety, and concurrency matter
• Contribute to and maintain open-source codebases 2\. Forward Deployment
• Work directly with users/customers in real environments
• Navigate messy, ambiguous constraints (infra, data, workflows)
• Adapt systems quickly to fit reality
• Ship fast, iterate faster 3\. Open Source in Practice
• Build in the open — code, discussions, and decisions
• Engage with contributors and external developers
• Turn real-world problems into reusable, open primitives
• Balance community needs vs product direction 4\. Systems Thinking
• Debug across layers: backend, infra, networking, data pipelines
• Make tradeoffs between:
• Speed vs reliability
• Generalization vs specificity
• Build systems that hold up under real-world stress 5\. Rapid Iteration
• Prototype → deploy → learn → refine
• Own outcomes, not just code
• Close feedback loops with users and contributors Who This Is For You’ll thrive here if you:
