Position Overview

This role serves as a hands-on HR partner supporting retail business growth in the U.S., with a strong focus on frontline recruitment, payroll \& benefits administration, and daily HR operations. The ideal candidate combines execution excellence with business partnership to support a fast-growing retail organization.

Key Responsibilities

1\. Talent Acquisition (50% – Retail Focus)

  • Lead end-to-end recruitment for retail frontline and corporate roles, with a focus on store hiring
  • Partner closely with hiring managers to understand workforce needs and deliver effective sourcing and hiring strategies.
  • Build and maintain strong talent pipelines to support new store openings and ongoing retail expansion.
  • Track recruiting metrics (time-to-fill, quality of hire) and continuously improve hiring efficiency and candidate experience.

2\. Payroll \& Benefits (30%)

  • Manage end-to-end payroll coordination, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with federal, state (especially California), and local regulations.
  • Administer employee benefits programs (health, 401(k), leave policies), ensuring competitiveness and smooth employee experience.
  • Partner with Finance and external vendors (e.g., payroll providers, brokers) to ensure proper processing, reporting, and compliance.
  • Handle employee inquiries related to payroll, benefits, and compensation matters.

3\. HR Operations \& Employee Relations (20%)

  • Support daily HR operations, including onboarding, offboarding, employee records, and HRIS maintenance.
  • Address employee relations matters, ensuring fair, consistent, and compliant practices aligned with company policies and U.S. labor laws.
  • Partner with business leaders to support employee engagement, and team effectiveness.
  • Maintain HR policies, reporting, and documentation to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, or related field
  • 5\+ years of HR experience, with strong exposure to retail environments (multi-store preferred)
  • Proven experience in high-volume retail recruiting and frontline hiring
  • Hands-on experience in payroll coordination and benefits administration in the U.S.
  • Solid knowledge of U.S. employment laws, especially California labor regulations
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, growing organization
