Role Overview

The Supply Chain Manager will oversee and manage the entire supply chain process for a residential rooftop solar installation company. This role includes supervising procurement, inventory management, logistics, vendor relations, and ensuring that all materials and equipment are delivered on time and at the most cost-effective rates.

The Supply Chain Manager will work closely with the Procurement Officers, Project Management, and Design Engineering teams to ensure seamless project execution, while optimizing costs and maintaining quality standards.

Supply Chain Strategy \& Cost Efficiency

• Develop and implement supply chain strategies aligned with company goals, focusing on cost-efficiency, timely delivery, and material quality.
• Continuously monitor supply chain performance and identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising quality or timelines.
• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, such as material shortages or supplier disruptions.

Procurement \& Vendor Management

• Oversee all procurement activities to ensure compliance with internal policies and local regulations.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers. Negotiate pricing, contracts, and service terms to secure the best value and reliability.
• Ensure accurate and complete documentation of purchase orders, contracts, and deliveries.

Inventory \& Materials Planning

• Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels for solar panels, inverters, batteries, and balance of system (BoS) components.
• Collaborate with the warehouse team to forecast material needs and manage reordering schedules based on project demand.

Logistics \& Fulfillment

• Coordinate with logistics partners to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of materials to project sites.
• Proactively resolve transportation issues to prevent installation delays.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Project Management, Design, and Operations teams to align material procurement with project timelines and specifications.

Team Leadership \& Development

• Lead and mentor the Procurement team (Officers and Associates), setting clear objectives and managing performance.
• Ensure team members are supported and operating efficiently to meet department goals.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field
• At least 5 years of experience in supply chain management, preferably in the solar or construction industry
• Strong knowledge of procurement processes, inventory management, and logistics
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Experience with ERP systems and supply chain management software
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
• Proven leadership and team management experience
• Familiarity with solar industry products and regulations is a plus
