Head of Product Development Section

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to head the

Product Development Section

within the Operations Division. The successful candidate will lead the development, enhancement and transformation of operational products and services, ensuring they deliver value to members and stakeholders.

This role will drive product innovation, oversee system enhancements and spearhead continuous operational improvements across core systems. The position requires strong leadership, stakeholder management and the ability to translate business needs into impactful solutions.

JOB SCOPE

1\.Product Development \& Project Management

• Lead the development and enhancement of operational products and services to improve member experience and operational efficiency.
• Define product vision, roadmap and delivery strategy aligned with organisational priorities.
• Drive the implementation of product initiatives and enhancements across core operational systems.
• Ensure product solutions meet business needs, regulatory requirements and operational standards.
• Oversee the planning and execution of product development initiatives and transformation projects.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration with business, technology and external stakeholders.
• Monitor project progress, manage risks and ensure timely delivery of initiatives.
• Provide regular updates and strategic insights to senior management on project performance.

2\.Operational Excellence \& Process Improvement

• Champion continuous improvement initiatives to optimise operational processes and service delivery.
• Identify opportunities to enhance processes through data-driven insights and industry best practices.
• Apply methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma, Design Thinking and Benchmarking to drive operational improvements.
• Lead the management and prioritisation of system enhancements and change requests.

3\.Stakeholder Engagement \& Collaboration

• Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support product initiatives.
• Facilitate discussions and alignment across business units, technology teams and partners.
• Represent the section in strategic discussions, working committees and governance forums.

4\.Leadership \& Team Development

• Lead and develop a high-performing team within the Product Development Section.
• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous learning.
• Provide guidance, mentorship and capability development for team members.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Malaysian citizen
• Pass Malay Language including oral test at Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) level
• Possess Bachelor’s Degree with Honours in Business Administration, Economics, Corporate Administration, Actuarial Studies or a related field recognised by the Malaysian Government
• More than 10 years of experience in product development, operations management, project management or business transformation
• Proven experience leading product initiatives, system enhancements or operational transformation projects
• Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills
• Excellent leadership and people management capabilities
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Experience in project management, product management or operational improvement initiatives
• Ability to manage complex initiatives in a dynamic environment
