Summary
We are seeking an experienced
Procurement Specialist
to join our team in support of a new, state-of-the-art solar manufacturing facility in
Greenville, NC
. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing and procuring both direct and indirect materials and services essential to our operations. This position plays a key role in building and managing a reliable, cost-effective supply base to support our growing business. Occasional overtime may be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, develop, and qualify new sources of goods and services with a focus on
supply base optimization
and cost efficiency.
- Negotiate
with suppliers on pricing, payment terms, lead times, and delivery schedules to ensure best total value for the organization.
- Monitor and manage supplier performance
, including price competitiveness, delivery reliability, responsiveness, and quality standards.
- Collaborate with
Supplier Quality
and other departments to resolve quality or performance issues.
- Review and evaluate supplier bids and proposals; provide sourcing recommendations to leadership.
- Negotiate and manage
contract terms and conditions
to ensure compliance and minimize risk.
- Resolve
invoice discrepancies
and other procurement-related issues in a timely manner.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and other procurement-related projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Economics, or a related field preferred.
- 10\+ years
of experience as a Buyer or Procurement Specialist, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Proficiency in
Microsoft Office Suite
(Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) required.
- Hands-on experience with
SAP
or a similar
ERP system
preferred.
- Professional certifications
(e.g., Certified Purchasing Professional – CPP, Certified Professional Purchasing Manager – CPPM) a plus.
- Fluency in Mandarin
is an asset but not required.
- Strong communication, analytical, and negotiation skills, with a proactive and results-oriented mindset.
