Job Description
We're partnering with an industry-leading manufacturer that's looking to add a
Senior Product Design Engineer
to their engineering team. This is an opportunity to lead the design and development of innovative automotive products from concept through production while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

What You'll Be Doing
- Lead the design and development of automotive intake, exhaust, and related mechanical components from concept through production.
- Create detailed 3D models and engineering drawings using
SolidWorks
.
- Apply
Design for Manufacturability (DFM/DFMA)
principles to optimize product performance and production efficiency.
- Work closely with manufacturing, quality, purchasing, suppliers, and customers throughout the product lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), engineering documentation, and product specifications.
- Design, build, and validate prototypes through testing and analysis.
- Support design validation using FEA, airflow simulations, and other engineering tools.
- Participate in design reviews and lead technical problem-solving efforts using methodologies such as
8D, DOE, and Root Cause Analysis
.
- Support PPAP documentation and production launch activities.
- Manage multiple engineering projects while ensuring schedules and deliverables are met.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- 7\+ years of mechanical product design experience in an
OEM or high-volume manufacturing environment
.
- Strong proficiency with
SolidWorks
and 3D CAD modeling.
- Experience with
GD\&T
, engineering drawings, and BOM creation.
- Hands-on experience with manufacturing processes such as:
- Plastic Injection Molding
- Metal Stamping
- Tube Bending
- Welding
- Strong understanding of DFM/DFMA principles.
- Experience with prototype development, testing, validation, and production release.
- Familiarity with PPAP, FEA, DOE, and structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and customers.
Preferred Experience
- Automotive OEM or Tier 1 supplier experience.
- Experience designing intake, exhaust, filtration, or engine-related components.
- Knowledge of airflow, thermal analysis, or CFD.
- Lean Manufacturing and Concurrent Engineering experience.
- CSWP or CSWE certification.
