Job Description
Associate – Investment
Ras Al Khaimah, UAE
The role is broadly defined into 2 categories: optimization of the performance of the existing portfolio, and investments into new assets. The Associate will delve into the underlying analytics of select performance improvement initiatives of the existing portfolio companies or specific M\&A-related modules.
Portfolio Management
- Under the direction of the Investment Directors and VPs:
- Perform required research related to industry and company analysis for portfolio review/ investment committee purposes.
- Work on the analytical modules of M\&A transactions such as full-fledged financial models, projections, and valuation. In addition, follow up on the commercial and financial due diligence undertaken by 3rd party advisors.
- Work on the analytical basis of the performance improvement initiatives and follow up jointly with the VPs and Directors on the actual implementation and materializing the impact.
- Interface with the management of portfolio companies and third-party advisors
Stakeholder Management
- Interface with the management of portfolio companies and third-party advisors
Investment
- Perform required research related to industry and company analysis for in-house due diligence and initial investment committee purposes.
- Work on the analytical modules of M\&A transactions such as financial models and valuation. In addition, follow up on the commercial and financial due diligence undertaken by third-party advisors.
- Together with the investment team, assess investments against economic goals such as infrastructure development, job growth, and GDP contribution.
Rating Support
- Provide periodic support to the Rating department with analysis and commentary on RAK Government financial performance.
- Effectively and in a timely manner address rating queries and provide all support in order to further submit to agencies.
Other Responsibilities
- Ensure timely collation, consolidation, and submission of management and operational information from OpCo’s as per the reporting templates specified from time to time.
- Take responsibility for delivering any formal, informal or ad-hoc information requests
- Contribute to the IC and PRC documents preparation and presentation.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or similar.
- CFA/ MBA from a recognized professional institution is a plus.
- Qualified professional with 3-6 years’ M\&A experience within a reputable investment bank or private equity.
- Experience in developing financial models and leading complete analytical modules related to industry dynamics and company performance.
- Total comfort in analytical work, handling large data, and making presentation documents.
