Location: Galway (Hybrid: 3 days onsite / 2 remote)

Travel: Up to 10% (primarily within Ireland)

Salary - €70,000 - €80,000

A fast-growing Irish consultancy operating in the regulated financial services sector is seeking an experienced Operations \& IT Project Manager to join its leadership team. This is a senior, high-impact role combining team leadership, IT project delivery, and oversight of client operations, with a strong focus on governance, risk, and information security.

The Role

You will lead a project delivery function while managing a diverse portfolio of IT projects across infrastructure, software, and regulatory environments. In parallel, you will play a key role in overseeing client engagements and broader business operations, ensuring high standards across governance, risk, and information security (GRC/InfoSec). You will act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, including C-suite and boards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing project delivery team, including performance management, capability development, and hiring.
• Manage a variety of IT projects end-to-end, spanning infrastructure, systems implementation, and regulatory-driven initiatives.
• Oversee client engagements and contribute to the effective running of day-to-day business operations.
• Act as the primary contact for senior client stakeholders, including boards and committees.
• Ensure strong governance, risk, and information security (GRC/InfoSec) practices across all projects and deliverables.
• Own project planning, financials, risk management, and reporting.
• Conduct IT gap analyses and maturity assessments aligned to regulatory and best-practice frameworks.
• Quality-control all client-facing outputs.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and operational scaling initiatives.

Requirements

• 5\+ years’ experience in IT project delivery, including team leadership.
• Proven experience managing a range of IT projects across both infrastructure and software environments.
• Strong understanding of governance, risk, and information security principles.
• Recognised project management certification (PRINCE2, PMP, or equivalent).
• Experience managing senior stakeholders at executive and board level.
• Excellent written communication and documentation skills.
• Background in IT audits, risk assessments, or gap analysis.

Desirable

• Experience in regulated financial services (e.g. banking, insurance, credit unions).
• Familiarity with frameworks such as DORA, NIS2, ISO 27001, or similar.
• Lean Six Sigma or Agile/Scrum certification.
• Consultancy or professional services background.
