Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join our team in Providence, Rhode Island. This role supports a dynamic plaintiff-side medical malpractice and personal injury practice, with a strong focus on discovery management and handling medical records. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and skilled at managing complex case files from intake through trial.
Responsibilities:
- Draft and respond to written discovery requests, including interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission.
- Organize and prepare discovery responses while assisting attorneys with strategy and case organization.
- Request, track, and obtain medical records and billing from healthcare providers, hospitals, and third-party vendors.
- Review, summarize, and index large volumes of medical records and billing information.
- Develop medical chronologies and case summaries for attorney evaluation.
- Maintain and manage case files, ensuring accuracy and completeness in both electronic and physical formats.
- Support trial preparation by organizing exhibits, subpoenas, witness files, and trial binders.
- Coordinate with clients, experts, medical providers, and opposing counsel as needed.
- Monitor deadlines and ensure compliance with court rules and discovery schedules.
- Extensive litigation paralegal experience in medical malpractice and/or personal injury cases.
- Proficiency in managing discovery requests and responses.
- Hands-on experience with organizing and analyzing medical records.
- Strong knowledge of civil litigation procedures and court rules.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case management systems.
