Job Description
A young and innovative medical device company developing a multidisciplinary system is looking for a
Mechanical \& R\&D Engineer
for a key role combining
hands-on laboratory work
, product development, system integration, supplier management, AI-assisted workflows, and end-to-end ownership from development through testing and clinical use.
We are looking for an independent, highly organized, proactive professional who can see the big picture, coordinate between development teams and suppliers, drive projects forward, solve problems in real time, and ensure the system is fully tested and ready before experiments, demonstrations, and clinical use.
Responsibilities
- Ongoing hands-on work in a laboratory environment
- Planning, setting up, and conducting experiments and system tests in the lab and in hospitals
- Managing and coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, and development partners in Israel and abroad
- Managing and tracking development activities and system components
- Performing system verification and readiness testing before experiments, demonstrations, and presentations
- Identifying technical issues and providing fast, practical solutions
- Proactively suggesting improvements and new development solutions for the product
- Regular use of AI tools such as
ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude
for research, problem-solving, information analysis, professional documentation, and workflow optimization
- Writing and editing protocols, reports, and technical documentation in English
- Working closely with development, quality, and regulatory teams
Requirements
- B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering / Biomedical Engineering, or a relevant practical engineering diploma
- At least
2 years of experience in a medical device company - mandatory
- Experience with laboratory work, experiments, and system testing - significant advantage
- Experience with systems involving Energy Delivery, Stimulation, Sensing, or Ablation - advantage
- Experience working with AI tools such as
ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude - significant advantage
- Strong technological orientation and ability to quickly adopt new tools and technologies
- Strong coordination and integration skills across multiple suppliers and development disciplines
- Ability to work independently, learn quickly, and take ownership
- Hands-on mindset and strong real-time problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Professional-level written and spoken English - mandatory
- Familiarity with medical device quality and regulatory processes - advantage
