JOB SUMMARY:
Under limited guidance, responsible for end-to-end general ledger accounting, financial reporting, banking operations, tax compliance, and audit coordination. Leads month-end close activities, performs financial analysis, and supports internal controls while providing guidance to junior staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyze accounting transactions including revenue, cash receipts/disbursements, accounts receivable (including allowance for doubtful accounts), accounts payable, inventory, and fixed assets.
- Prepare and validate journal entries for depreciation, amortization, accruals, expense allocations, interest, and tax provisions; perform account reconciliations.
- Lead month-end close process and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting packages (DIVA), including GL data extraction and upload.
- Process bank transactions (cash collections, disbursements, borrowings, repayments) and perform bank reconciliations.
- Administer banking activities including wire validation and maintenance of payment templates.
- Validate payroll journal entries (salaries, taxes, benefits, bonus accruals).
- Manage cash flow forecasting and accounts receivable aging review.
- Handle sales and use tax compliance, including reporting, estimated payments, and settlements.
- Support audits (internal/external), tax filings, and compliance requirements.
- Maintain and improve chart of accounts and financial data integrity.
- Lead or support ERP and process improvement initiatives (e.g., Concur, workflow optimization, data quality).
- Collaborate cross-functionally to enhance financial processes and internal controls.
- Perform ad hoc projects and analysis.
KEY DECISIONS/DIMENSIONS:
- Determine appropriate accounting treatment for transactions in compliance with GAAP and company policies
- Assess and resolve reconciliation discrepancies and control issues
- Evaluate accruals, reserves (e.g., bad debt, tax provisions), and financial estimates
- Prioritize month-end close activities under tight deadlines
- Identify process improvements and internal control enhancements
- Coordinate with auditors and tax advisors on data submissions and issue resolution
MAJOR CHALLENGES:
- Managing high-volume transactions with strict close timelines and accuracy expectations
- Balancing operational tasks (close, reporting, banking) with analytical responsibilities
- Ensuring compliance with multiple requirements (GAAP, tax, internal controls, group reporting)
- Navigating ERP/data limitations while maintaining data integrity
- Supporting audits and tax reviews with complete and accurate documentation
- Driving process improvements while maintaining day-to-day responsibilities
- Communicating effectively across functions and with global stakeholders

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
- 5\+ years of relevant accounting experience
- Manufacturing and cost accounting experience preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Working knowledge of GAAP, tax compliance, and financial reporting
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- High attention to detail and data accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to work independently and cross-functionally
COMPUTER SKILLS:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with ERP systems, preferably NetSuite
- Experience with financial reporting tools (e.g., DIVA or equivalent)
- Familiarity with expense management systems (e.g., Concur) is a plus
CERTIFICATES/LICENSES:
- CPA or equivalent professional certification preferred
- CMA or other accounting certifications a plus
