Overview
A growing multi-site manufacturing organization is seeking a hands-on Safety, Health, Environmental \& Facilities (SHEF) Manager to lead and own all SHEF programs across two operational sites. This role is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, strengthening safety culture, and building scalable processes that support operational performance and risk mitigation.
This position requires a highly visible, floor-oriented leader who is comfortable working directly in the field while also building systems, processes, and reporting structures that support long-term growth. The role operates as an individual contributor with full ownership of SHEF across both locations.

Key Responsibilities
Own and lead all Safety, Health, Environmental, and Facilities (SHEF) programs across two manufacturing sitesEnsure full compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulationsServe as the primary on-site safety professional, maintaining a strong presence on the production floorConduct routine safety audits, facility inspections, and job hazard analyses (JHAs), and ensure timely follow-up on corrective actionsLead all incident reporting, investigations, and root cause analysis, ensuring accurate documentation and clear corrective action plansDevelop, implement, and maintain SHEF-related SOPs, and support broader operational SOP standardization as neededDesign and deliver hands-on safety training, onboarding programs, and regular toolbox talks tailored to manufacturing and fabrication environmentsOversee environmental compliance programs, including waste management, spill prevention, air quality, stormwater, and permitting requirementsManage facilities-related safety and compliance, including building conditions, contractor safety, and risk-based maintenance coordinationPartner with operations leadership to identify risks, improve processes, and strengthen overall safety performanceTrack, analyze, and report on key SHEF metrics, trends, and performance indicators to leadershipDrive continuous improvement initiatives that reduce risk, improve compliance, and support operational efficiencyOptionally support or lead QA/QC processes, inspections, and documentation to ensure adherence to internal standards and customer requirementsAct as a trusted advisor to leadership, providing practical, solutions-oriented guidance with minimal oversight
Qualifications Required
Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience5\+ years of progressive SHEF experience in manufacturing, fabrication, construction, or similar environmentsStrong working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations and compliance requirementsExperience conducting audits, incident investigations, and root cause analysisProven ability to build and implement safety programs, SOPs, and training initiativesAbility to work independently, prioritize effectively, and manage responsibilities across multiple sitesStrong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organizationHands-on, floor-oriented approach with a willingness to be actively engaged in operations
Qualifications Preferred
OSHA certifications (OSHA 30 or equivalent)Environmental compliance experience, including permitting and reportingExperience in multi-site operationsFamiliarity with manufacturing equipment, fabrication processes, and industrial safety risksExperience supporting or leading QA/QC processesBilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
