Senior Database Engineer

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Database Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Business Services space. This role will lead technical work focused on secure, reliable systems and risk-aware execution. You will work across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and the technology capabilities that enable long-term growth within a Business Services environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $100,000 – $140,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize and implement database solutions
• Ensure database performance, availability, and security requirements are met
• Deliver high-quality work and enforce coding standards
• Research and implement innovative database technologies
• Design resilient and efficient database processes
• Develop custom SQL procedures and functions
• Support the Tier2 team with database-related issues

Qualifications

• 7\+ years of PostgreSQL database administration experience
• Advanced MariaDB administration and optimization skills
• Knowledge of Pgpool-II for load balancing and failover management
• Experience with PostgreSQL replication and performance tuning
• Ability to create operational runbooks for database maintenance
