Job Description

We're currently partnering with a 1000\+ person

global engineering and consulting firm

who are looking to expand out their U.S energy practice,

hiring

experienced Power Systems Engineers

to join the team. This is an exciting opportunity for an

experienced professional

who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and working directly with clients.

The Role:

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform transmission planning studies including

voltage, transient stability analysis, power flow, short-circuit, and contingency

.

  • Conduct

steady-state and dynamic simulations

to evaluate grid performance, renewable integration, and network reliability.

  • Assess generator interconnection requests, transmission reinforcement requirements, and congestion scenarios.
  • Develop and maintain accurate power system models,

ensuring technical quality and consistency across studies.

  • Produce clear technical reports and communicate findings

to clients and internal stakeholders.

  • Work closely with clients

to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.

  • Contribute to the development of new analytical tools and methodologies

that improve project delivery.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering

or a related discipline.

  • 5\+ years of experience in transmission planning, power system studies, or power systems consulting.
  • Strong experience performing steady-state, dynamic, and system impact studies.
  • Hands-on experience with industry-standard software such as

PSS®E, PSLF, PSCAD, ETAP, SKM, EMTP/ATP

, or similar.

  • Knowledge of U.S. electricity markets and regional transmission organizations including

PJM, ERCOT, MISO, CAISO, SPP, WECC

, or similar.

  • Understanding of

NERC and FERC standards

and transmission planning processes.

  • Excellent analytical, communication, and technical reporting skills.
  • Comfortable working independently while collaborating with global teams.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for client meetings and project delivery.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licence.
  • Experience supporting the growth of engineering teams or new business initiatives.
  • Previous experience working within international or multidisciplinary project environments.
