Required Qualifications
At the time of appointment, candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Biomedical, Materials), Physiology, Molecular Biology, Immunology, or a closely related field, or an M.D. (or equivalent clinical doctorate) with substantial research training (e.g., physician-scientist track). Candidates should demonstrate a strong record of experimental research in cardiovascular science.
Areas of expertise may include, but are not limited to, robotics, sensors for cardiovascular monitoring; cardiovascular devices and biomaterials; cardiovascular pathophysiology; tissue and cellular biomechanics; bioreactor systems with translational applications; vascular biology and mechanobiology; hemodynamics and cardiovascular fluid mechanics; cardiovascular imaging and diagnostics; computational modeling integrated with experimental validation; regenerative medicine and tissue engineering; and translational or preclinical cardiovascular research.
Candidates whose research complements or extends the Center for Cardiovascular Research in Biomechanics (CRiB)’s focus on cardiovascular biomechanics, materials, devices, and translational science are strongly encouraged to apply. Postdoctoral training (or equivalent research experience) and a demonstrated record of securing extramural funding are highly desirable.
