Position Overview

Slate Asset Management is seeking a talented individual to work with its Investment team in North America.

The successful candidate will be expected to provide timely support and assist with the management of the firm’s real estate portfolios, while also performing broader asset management and investment-related duties. The successful candidate will work closely with the North American Investment team.

Reports to:

Managing Director: Portfolio Management/Asset Management

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and manage complex financial models and other analyses relating to real estate investments across North America
  • Obtain inputs and assumptions for financial models through market research, review of third-party reports and collaboration with internal stakeholders
  • Underwriting new investments and creating investment committee memoranda
  • Recording monthly cash flow activity and commitments across the portfolio
  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly and/or annual reporting across the portfolio
  • Coordinate with investment and accounting teams to ensure accuracy in reporting
  • Interact with brokers, sellers, and advisors
  • Engage with Legal on the negotiation of lease contracts
  • Engage with Portfolio Managers around portfolio valuation

Qualifications and Experience

  • Completed undergraduate and/or master’s degree in real estate, business, finance, or related field
  • 2\+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Self-motivated individual with a high level of attention to detail along with willingness to learn and grow
  • Ability to meet challenging deadlines while maintaining quality and accuracy
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a dynamic, creative and entrepreneurial environment
  • Outgoing personality
  • Team player with exceptional work ethic
  • Proven ability to manage deadlines and complex projects in a fast-paced environment

Actual compensation will be determined based on a number of factors, including the successful candidate’s experience, skills and qualifications. The successful candidate will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, which includes medical, dental and vision coverage, PTO, 401K match and other employee benefits.
