Job Description

About Us

For nearly 50 years, Berkshire East Mountain Resort has steadily grown and evolved under the vision and leadership of the Schaefer family . As a year round resort that remains family owned and operated, we offer a genuine, community driven mountain experience. Beyond winter skiing and snowboarding, the resort transforms into an all season destination featuring Thunder Mountain Bike Park, ziplining, a mountain coaster, whitewater rafting, and a full lineup of outdoor activities.

We are authentic, independent, and built for making memories in every season. Our marketing team has a humorous, bold, and energetic brand voice, as seen in our creative campaigns (including our famous Ron Burgundy style snowmaking video) . We are looking for a Video Editor who can capture that same energy and tell compelling stories about adventure, hard work, and mountain life.

Position Overview

We are seeking a creative and efficient Video Editor to join our team remotely. You will be responsible for editing raw footage captured at our Charlemont, MA resort into polished, engaging videos for social media (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube), digital ads, and our website. You will work closely with our marketing director to ensure all content reflects the "authentic, independent, and adventurous" personality of Berkshire East.

Key Responsibilities

  • Edit Short Form Content: Cut raw footage into fast paced, engaging reels and TikToks suitable for organic social media and paid advertising.
  • Long Form Production: Edit promotional videos, event recaps, and "day in the life" content for YouTube and the website.
  • Audio \& Color Correction: Balance audio levels, add music/SFX, and perform color grading to ensure high production value (matching the vibrant outdoor environment).
  • Motion Graphics: Add basic text overlays, lower thirds, and simple animations (e.g., "Sneak peek of snowmaking tonight").
  • Asset Management: Organize and maintain a library of b-roll, logos, and historical footage (including our legacy content from the last 50 years).
  • Brand Consistency: Ensure all videos adhere to Berkshire East’s brand voice guidelines (humorous, energetic, community focused) .
  • Remote Collaboration: Communicate daily with the on site team via Slack or Zoom to receive footage and feedback.

Requirements

  • Portfolio: Must provide links to edited videos demonstrating pacing, storytelling, and audio mixing (social media clips preferred).
  • Software Proficiency: Expert knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects (or Final Cut Pro with equivalent motion graphics skills).
  • Speed: Ability to turn around highlight clips within 24 48 hours of receiving event footage.
  • Self Starter: Ability to work unsupervised and manage deadlines across multiple projects.
  • The Vibe: You understand humor and aren't afraid to make a video that feels "authentic" rather than overly corporate (think Ron Burgundy, not a suit) .

Preferred (Not Required)

  • Experience editing outdoor sports action footage (skiing, biking, rafting).
  • Basic knowledge of DSLR or drone footage handling.
  • Familiarity with YouTube SEO for video descriptions.

Annual Salary

45,000–75,000 per year (commensurate with experience)
