Job Description

Investment Banking Analyst (Graduates and Experienced Hires) - London

Our Client

CF Invest, our specialist recruitment arm, focuses exclusively on opportunities within the investment and financial services sector.

We are partnering with a leading U.S investment bank that is actively expanding its Investment Banking division across Europe. As part of this growth, the firm is seeking to hire five Analysts to join its London-based team, offering the opportunity to contribute meaningfully within a dynamic and high-performing environment.

Successful candidates will be aligned to a sector team such as Financial Institutions Group (FIG), Technology, Media \& Telecommunications (TMT), or Energy, with additional opportunities across other industry verticals including Industrials, Healthcare, and Consumer.

In this role, you will support the delivery of a broad range of advisory and financing transactions. This includes mergers and acquisitions, equity and equity-linked offerings, debt capital raises, joint ventures, restructurings, and strategic investments. You will play an integral role in helping clients navigate complex financial decisions and achieve their strategic objectives.

Your Focus

In this role as an Investment Banking Analyst, you will be directly involved in advising clients on significant financial transactions, ranging from mergers and acquisitions to raising capital in the debt and equity markets. Partnering with senior team members, you will help evaluate strategic options, shape deal structures, and deliver insights that influence key corporate decisions.

The position is hands-on and fast-moving, with a strong emphasis on execution. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include building detailed financial models, analysing company and market data, and producing high-quality presentations for clients. You will also support transaction processes end-to-end, contribute to due diligence efforts, and ensure all work meets strict regulatory and compliance standards.

This opportunity is ideal for someone who combines strong analytical ability with sound commercial judgement and a proactive mindset. Success in this role requires the ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and maintain precision in every aspect of your work. Clear communication, accountability, and a collaborative approach are essential as you contribute to delivering complex, high-value deals.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the delivery of a wide range of investment banking transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, capital raises, and strategic advisory engagements
  • Develop and refine financial models and analytical frameworks to assess opportunities and support decision-making
  • Create high-quality client materials such as presentations, information memoranda, and supporting deal documentation
  • Perform in-depth research on companies, industries, and market trends to inform both origination and execution efforts
  • Collaborate with senior team members to manage transaction processes, track progress, and ensure key milestones are met
  • Participate in due diligence by analysing data, identifying key issues, and liaising with internal teams and external advisors
  • Support business development initiatives through targeted research and the preparation of tailored marketing content
  • Identify and evaluate potential risks within transactions while ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal standards
  • Uphold strong attention to detail, organisation, and discretion in handling sensitive information
  • Work collaboratively across multiple functions, including banking, markets, legal, risk, and compliance, to deliver successful outcomes

This role centres on contributing to the delivery of complex investment banking transactions while enabling clients to navigate strategic and financing decisions with confidence.

You are able to quickly interpret and synthesise detailed financial and commercial information, applying strong analytical thinking to assess businesses, transactions, and broader market dynamics. You bring a structured, methodical approach to problem-solving and are capable of forming clear, evidence-based perspectives. Comfortable operating in high-pressure environments, you adapt effectively as deal timelines shift and demands intensify.
