Job Description
Role Overview:
Provides direct patient care in an acute medicine unit with a capacity of 13 adult patients, managing complex medical conditions such as renal, endocrine, neurological, GI/GU, pulmonary, infectious disease, and cardiology. Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team including physicians, social workers, dieticians, therapists, and pharmacists to deliver excellent care.
Responsibilities:
- Promotes patient and family-centered care, educating on illness management, post-treatment care, and medication administration.
- Participates in activities to ensure patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance, and engages in professional development.
- Develops and documents individualized care plans, coordinating communication across care teams and with patients and families.
- Utilizes critical nursing skills to assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, respecting patient values and barriers.
- Contributes to a safe environment, adhering to safety protocols and standards of nursing care.
Qualifications \& Skills:
- Education: Nursing Diploma/Associate's degree required; Bachelor's preferred.
- Licenses \& Certifications: RN license required.
- Experience: No experience necessary; 2 years preferred for advanced roles.
- Skills: Strong assessment, communication, and collaboration abilities, with a focus on patient safety and holistic care.
