Android Engineer

Responsibilities

• Feature Development:

Build and maintain high-performance features for the Jefit Android app using

Kotlin

and

Jetpack Compose

.

• AI-Accelerated Engineering:

Proactively integrate AI coding agents (e.g.,

Claude Code

, Cursor) into your workflow to accelerate refactoring, automate testing, and boost overall development velocity.

• Offline-First Performance:

Optimize the app for real-world gym environments, ensuring rock-solid data synchronization and low-latency performance via Room/SQLite.

• Rapid Prototyping:

Work directly with our founders and design team to iterate on new ideas and ship them to millions of users.

Requirements

• Professional Experience:

2\+ years of Android development with a strong grasp of the Android SDK.

• Modern Stack:

Proficiency in

Kotlin

. Experience with (or a strong desire to master) Jetpack Compose and Coroutines.

• AI Tooling:

Demonstrated experience using AI coding assistants to increase individual throughput and code quality.

• In-Office Presence:

Ability to work full-time from our Santa Clara / San Jose office to collaborate with the core team.

• Product Sense:

A keen eye for UI/UX. You care about how a feature feels, not just how it functions.

Salary Range:

$115,000 – $125,000 USD \+ Benefits
