Compensation:

$135,000–$155,000, depending on experience

Employment:

Full-Time / Direct Hire

Work Authorization:

Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future employer sponsorship

About the Opportunity

We are partnering with a growing Atlanta-area organization seeking a hands-on Senior Data Engineer with strong Microsoft Fabric experience to help build, scale, and govern a modern enterprise data platform.

This is not a traditional BI Developer or Power BI-focused position.

The primary focus is

backend data engineering and architecture within Microsoft Fabric

—building pipelines, Lakehouse architecture, ingestion frameworks, transformations, APIs, and governed data environments that ultimately support analytics and self-service reporting.

The right candidate will have

real, hands-on Microsoft Fabric implementation experience

and be comfortable discussing how they have personally designed and built solutions within the platform.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Design and build scalable data solutions using Microsoft Fabric
  • Develop and maintain Fabric Data Factory pipelines, Lakehouses, Warehouses, notebooks, and data workflows
  • Build and support Medallion Architecture (Bronze / Silver / Gold)
  • Design ingestion, transformation, storage, and consumption layers within the data platform
  • Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines across multiple enterprise data sources
  • Develop custom integrations and connectors using Python, REST/SOAP APIs, and flat-file/EDI feeds
  • Write and optimize complex SQL across large datasets
  • Use Python and PySpark for data transformation and engineering workloads
  • Help establish scalable data architecture, governance, security, access management, data quality, and lineage
  • Integrate data from ERP, CRM, e-commerce, warehouse management, and other operational systems
  • Enable trusted, governed data for downstream analytics and self-service reporting
  • Partner directly with business stakeholders across finance, operations, sales, supply chain, and other functions
  • Support Power BI semantic models and reporting while remaining primarily focused on data engineering and architecture

The source description specifically includes Dynamics 365, Magento and Salesforce ingestion as well as Python-built connectors for REST/SOAP APIs. Data Engineer

Required Experience

  • 4\+ years of Data Engineering experience
  • Hands-on Microsoft Fabric experience is REQUIRED
  • Demonstrated experience actually

building within Microsoft Fabric

, not simply working in an environment where Fabric was used

  • Strong experience with Fabric Lakehouse / Warehouse architecture and data pipelines
  • Experience with Medallion Architecture – Bronze, Silver, Gold
  • Strong SQL skills, including complex queries and performance optimization
  • Hands-on Python experience
  • Experience with PySpark / Spark strongly preferred
  • Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines
  • Experience integrating data through APIs and custom connectors
  • Understanding of data governance, security, access controls, data quality, and lineage
  • Strong understanding of cloud data architecture; Azure experience preferred
  • Ability to work directly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Power BI experience, including data modeling and semantic models

Preferred Experience

The original specification also calls for strong SQL, Lakehouse/medallion architecture, Python, Azure and exposure to ML workflows, Git and CI/CD. Data Engineer

Experience with any of the following would be beneficial:

Dynamics 365 \| Salesforce \| Magento \| Microsoft Purview \| Databricks \| Snowflake \| PySpark \| Power BI \| Git/CI/CD \| Retail \| Manufacturing \| Supply Chain

Important Requirements

Microsoft Fabric is a must-have for this position. Candidates whose experience is primarily Power BI, traditional BI/reporting, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, or Snowflake without hands-on Microsoft Fabric engineering experience will not be a fit.

This is a hybrid position in Acworth, GA, requiring regular onsite presence.

Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship. Sponsorship is not available for this position.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

This is an opportunity to have a meaningful impact on a growing enterprise data environment rather than simply maintaining existing pipelines. You'll work closely with data leadership and business stakeholders while helping shape the architecture, engineering standards, governance, and future direction of the organization's Microsoft Fabric platform.
