Job Description

Fragment builds AI agents that autonomously resolve procurement exceptions for Fortune 500 enterprises. Not routing. Not flagging. Resolution. The infrastructure we've built allows us to deploy on top of whatever systems a customer already runs – SAP, Oracle, Coupa, homegrown – and our agents resolve 3-way match failures, change orders, duplicate invoices, and more, end to end. No rip-and-replace.

We're hiring a Solutions Architect to own the procurement domain full-time across customer conversations, product development, and delivery. Our founding team comes from manufacturing and enterprise AI and already operates deep in the procurement space. We need someone dedicated to going even deeper.

Compensation

$175,000 – $235,000 \+ equity

[\+$15,000 geography bonus]

Company Highlights

  • The Team:

Our founding team has been building and deploying enterprise AI Agents together since the inception of agents. Our CEO previously led and scaled three of Zoom's products to

$300M\+ in revenue

while our CTO is an ex-AI researcher who has spent his entire career in enterprise AI, leading engineering teams from seed through series C.

  • Market Demand

: We have several Fortune 500 customers, $30M in active pipeline, and customers actively championing us to their networks. Our marketing and CAC to get here has been $0\.

  • Hypergrowth:

We grew to mid 6-figure ARR in \<60 days and the majority of our pipeline has come from customer references.

  • Product:

We pride ourselves on our depth of our experience building agents, and on our continued diligence in leveraging the latest technology. We hold a high bar of excellence that starts with the founding team.

What We've Built

If you've spent time in procurement, you already know the landscape. Coupa, SAP Ariba, Jaggaer, GEP — they digitize processes but they don't resolve exceptions. When a 3-way match fails, when a change order hits after goods receipt, when a duplicate invoice slips through across ERPs, those platforms route the problem to a human. The human investigates, makes a judgment call, and closes the loop. That's why BPOs and shared services centers still employ thousands of people to do work that is repetitive, rules-based, and high-volume.

Fragment replaces that labor with AI agents that actually resolve exceptions end to end. Not routing. Not flagging. Resolution.

Our platform reasons across ERP systems, procurement documents, supplier data, and tribal knowledge simultaneously. It doesn't require a rip-and-replace. It doesn't need months of integration work. It deploys on top of whatever systems a customer already runs — SAP, Oracle, Coupa, homegrown, or all of the above — and starts resolving exceptions autonomously.

The results are real. In early deployments with Fortune 500 manufacturers, we've demonstrated dramatic reductions in AP processing labor and exception cycle times. Customers aren't evaluating us against other software vendors. They're evaluating us against the BPO contracts and shared services headcount they're paying for today. And we're winning.

We are the only company that profits from your exceptions going to zero.

What We Believe

  1. Delivering Customer Success:

We focus on our customers. Our customers are the foundation of our company. Our customers' goals are our goals. We build high-performing, reliable products to improve the business outcomes they care most about.

  1. Unoriginality is Terrifying:

We have a burning desire to stay cutting edge and creative. We fear the status quo and conventional thinking. We are early to emerging technology and research and approach problems with first principles thinking and a healthy contrarian streak. Even the most mundane of problems deserve creative solutions.

  1. Speed of Trust: A high level of trust is key to our team's operation. We operate with high trust by default – internally and with our customers. Inside the company, this means clear ownership, fast decisions, and low process overhead. With customers, it means transparency, direct communication, and doing what we say we'll do. Trust is how we move fast without cutting corners.
  2. Ego is Enemy:

We are not overly arrogant and seek truth in others. Truth-seeking requires leaving our ego aside in favor of outcomes and solutions. We listen with respect, take feedback seriously, and change our minds when presented with new evidence. We believe the best ideas can come from anywhere and anyone.

  1. Family:

One of our founders is a young parent, and both founders believe discipline creates room for balance. We support families and commitments outside work while staying intensely focused on the mission.

What You'll Do

You will be Fragment's dedicated procurement \+ process expert across every surface of the company: customer conversations, product development, and delivery.

Customer-Facing Work.

Serve as a procurement domain expert in prospect and customer engagements. Lead process mapping sessions across AP automation, direct procurement, change order management, and source-to-pay workflows. Walk into unfamiliar environments — different industries, different ERPs, different levels of process maturity — and get productive fast. Translate customer pain points into specific, actionable requirements for our engineering team. Help customers see what's possible when AI agents handle the work their BPOs and shared services teams do today.

Product Work.

Partner with our engineering team to continuously refine and expand our agents' procurement capabilities. Bring real-world process knowledge into the product loop — surfacing edge cases, validating automation logic, and ensuring that what we ship holds up against the complexity of actual enterprise procurement environments. Guide the UX from a practitioner's perspective so that the product feels intuitive to the teams who use it daily.

Delivery Work.

Be hands-on in launching and configuring customer deployments. Own deployment readiness: make sure the process logic, exception handling, and workflow configuration are dialed in before we go live. Build the playbooks, process documentation, and implementation frameworks that let us scale delivery beyond your individual involvement.

Strategic Work.

Help shape Fragment's point of view on what LEAN procure-to-pay and source-to-pay processes should look like when AI agents are in the loop. Not incremental optimization of the status quo. A fundamental rethinking of how these processes are designed when autonomous resolution is the default, not the exception. Contribute to thought leadership and strengthen our go-to-market messaging with operational depth.

This is a startup. Your primary job is procurement domain expertise, but you'll be pulled into whatever needs to get done. If you need a clearly scoped job description to be comfortable, this isn't the right fit.

Who You Are

We are looking for someone with deep, practical knowledge of procurement operations who can context-switch fast and operate at startup speed. The right person is as comfortable with a VP of Procurement as they are whiteboarding process logic with engineers.

You might come from one of these paths:

  • Path 1: Procurement operations practitioner who went into consulting.

You spent your early career doing real procurement work at a large enterprise – processing exceptions, managing suppliers, configuring ERP workflows. Then you moved into consulting where you got breadth across industries, ERP environments, and transformation methodologies. You have the intuition from having lived it and the structured approach from consulting.

  • Path 2: Procurement transformation consultant with deep operational exposure.

You've run P2P or S2P transformation workstreams at a Big 4 or procurement-focused consultancy. You've mapped processes across a dozen clients in different industries and ERP configurations. You didn't just recommend a future-state, and you got close to the real workflows and messy data.

  • Path 3: Procurement and AP operator from GBS or BPO.

You've led or partnered with teams running procurement or AP processes at scale. You understand the real causes of errors, cycle time delays, and exception backlogs. You've translated day-to-day operational steps into standardized workflows.

Regardless of background, you are someone who:

  • Can map any procurement process cold. Walk into a company you've never seen before, sit down with their team, and produce a clear process map with decision trees, exception paths, and system touchpoints within days.
  • Context-switches across industries and ERP environments without a long ramp. Our customers span electronics manufacturing, energy, automotive, food and beverage, and more. They run SAP, Oracle, Coupa, Ariba, and homegrown systems — sometimes all at once.
  • Goes deep on process logic. Exception handling, variance resolution, cross-system reconciliation — this is second nature, not something you look up.
  • Translates between practitioners and engineers. You can take a procurement team's messy description of how they handle invoice exceptions and turn it into structured logic that an engineering team can build against.
  • Combines technical literacy (SQL comfort, ERP schemas, practical understanding of agentic workflows) with strong executive communication.
  • Thrives in a high-velocity environment where success is measured by customer adoption and expansion.
  • Takes ownership under pressure, with an instinct to "run toward the fire."
