Job Description
An opportunity has become available for a General/Nurse Practitioner to join a well-established, family-friendly practice in Central Auckland that has served the local community for more than 50 years. With 3,000\+ enrolled patients and consistent demand, this role offers the chance to walk into a ready-made patient base, supported by an experienced Registered Nurse and a dedicated Practice Manager.
The Role
You will be supported by a highly experienced full-time RN who has been part of the practice for nine years, helping maintain smooth clinical flow and strong patient care. With an intergenerational patient base, you really will be part of the family.
The clinic has two consult rooms plus a small procedure room, providing flexibility for GPs who enjoy minor procedures. An off-site Nurse Practitioner supports script management later in the week, helping keep workloads manageable.
The practice operates from a character building that has housed a GP clinic for over five decades, offering a warm and familiar environment for patients and staff alike.

Located in Central Auckland, this practice serves a loyal community in a well-established neighbourhood.
Please note the clinic is located upstairs in a heritage building. Parking nearby includes street parking or ParkMate options.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive primary care consultations to an enrolled patient base of 3,000\+
- Diagnose, treat and manage acute and long-term health conditions
- Develop ongoing care plans and preventative health strategies
- Conduct home visits for those unable to navigate the stairs
- Work collaboratively with the practice RN, Practice Manager and wider health network
- Complete referrals, documentation and follow-up care to support positive patient outcomes
- Perform minor procedures where appropriate (optional)
- Participate in home visits where required, supporting continuity of care in the community
Applicant Requirements
- Vocational registration (or working towards) with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ)
- Current Annual Practising Certificate (APC)
- Eligibility to work as a General Practitioner in New Zealand
- A patient-centred approach with a passion for continuity of care in the community
- Confidence working both independently and collaboratively within a small practice team
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build long-term patient relationships
