ROLE OVERVIEW
The Local Marketing Coordinator supports the execution of grassroots marketing initiatives and community partnerships that drive local awareness and engagement for assigned festival markets.
This role focuses on ensuring that all local marketing initiatives — including street team activations, promotional partnerships, and community outreach — are executed effectively.
Working under the direction of the Marketing Manager, the Local Marketing Coordinator plays a key role in building relationships with local businesses, organizations, and community partners who help amplify the festival within the market.
This role includes significant travel and in-market presence, attending each assigned festival week (Tuesday–Sunday) to support on-the-ground marketing efforts, strengthen local relationships, and ensure successful event execution.
Success in this role is measured by
the effectiveness of grassroots activations, the strength of local partnerships, and the visibility of the festival within each market.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
1\. Grassroots Marketing Execution
- Support the execution of local marketing initiatives including flyer distribution, promotional activations, and street team efforts.
- Coordinate logistics for grassroots promotions and ensure materials are delivered and displayed appropriately.
- Assist with organizing street team schedules and ensuring promotional materials are distributed in high-impact locations throughout the market.
- Track promotional placements and maintain records of where marketing materials are distributed.
2\. Community Partnership Development
- Assist in building relationships with local businesses, organizations, and community groups that align with the festival audience.
- Support the Marketing Manager in identifying potential partners including restaurants, bars, retailers, fitness studios, nightlife venues, and local cultural organizations.
- Help coordinate collaborative promotions and in-store activations with local partners.
- Maintain communication with partners to support ongoing engagement and future festival promotion.
3\. Local Activation Coordination
- Support the planning and execution of local promotional activations including pop-ups, partner events, and community promotions.
- Assist with coordinating marketing presence at local events or venues that align with the festival audience.
- Help manage logistics for promotional giveaways, signage placement, and partner activations.
- Ensure all local activations are documented with photos and notes for reporting and future planning.
4\. Marketing Asset Distribution
- Coordinate distribution of marketing materials including flyers, posters, signage, and promotional collateral.
- Identify high-traffic locations for promotional placement throughout the market.
- Document placements and maintain records within internal marketing trackers.
- Ensure marketing materials are refreshed and maintained in key locations leading up to the festival.
5\. Festival Week In-Market Support
- Travel to each assigned festival market during event week (Tuesday–Sunday) to support local marketing operations.
- Strengthen relationships with local partners and businesses during in-market visits.
- Assist with coordinating local media, influencers, and promotional partners attending the event.
- Support on-site marketing activations including sponsor promotions, content opportunities, and partner engagement.
- Identify new local partnership opportunities while in market for future events.
6\. Market Intelligence \& Reporting
- Provide insights on local audience behavior, partner feedback, and community response to marketing initiatives.
- Document successful grassroots tactics and partnership activations that can inform future festival planning.
- Maintain detailed records of local partners, activations, and promotional placements.
- Share observations and opportunities with the Marketing Manager to strengthen future marketing strategies.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 1–3\+ years of experience in event marketing, grassroots marketing, brand promotions, or community outreach roles.
- Experience coordinating promotional activations or local partnerships preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage logistics across multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Comfortable working with community partners and local businesses.
- Willingness to travel to festival markets and assist with on-site marketing activities.

Salary Range: $65,000 - $70,000 per year
