Key responsibilities:

  • Culture cells in a sterile environment, including the expansion, differentiation, and maturation of human iPSC-derived neurons
  • Independently design and execute in vitro pharmacological studies; implement or innovate new experimental protocols as needed
  • Perform in-depth data analysis, draw conclusions, and present findings to multidisciplinary teams
  • Demonstrate critical thinking to troubleshoot and provide creative solutions to experimental challenges
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team members to achieve organizational goals, ensuring excellence in execution and effective workload prioritization

  • Demonstrates flexibility and a commitment to scientific excellence
  • Possesses strong interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as creative thinking ability
  • Able to perform experiments independently and work effectively in a team environment
  • Interprets results and draws conclusions from multi-step experiments; notes significant deviations, uses scientific literature to suggest, design, and pursue relevant experiments
  • Demonstrates meticulous attention to detail and diligence in record keeping

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a biological science field with 5 years of experience in an academic or industry laboratory setting
  • Expertise in aseptic techniques, including maintaining iPSC cell cultures is required
  • Experience in cell transfection/transduction is preferred
  • Expertise in executing enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA), complex cell-based assays, and western blotting is required
  • Experience with immunohistochemistry, microscopy techniques, and/or flow cytometry is preferred
  • Computer skills: working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is required
  • Knowledge of graphing software (e.g., GraphPad Prism) and a basic understanding of statistical analyses are preferred
  • Strong writing and communication skills
