Required Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience, plus 10 years of professional experience spanning technical, business, and program or delivery management, including leading people.

Preferred Experience: Experience building or maturing a discipline or operating model; background in marketing, fundraising, or nonprofit / donor-facing technology; fluency with Agile methods and tools such as Jira.

THE JOB

World Vision is looking for a Director of Technical Program Management to lead the team that turns our marketing and fundraising ambitions into quality digital solutions. This is a leadership role first: you will grow a team of technical program managers, own and continuously improve the operating model behind their work, and partner with business leaders to shape and deliver the right solutions. Alongside the AVP, you will steward a forward-looking roadmap of digital capabilities and steer new requests toward it, stepping into the most complex program work where your experience makes the difference. Your leadership shapes how tens of millions in annual fundraising opportunity gets delivered, and how a portfolio representing hundreds of millions in long-term donor value moves from idea to impact.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Keep Christ central. Actively participate in and contribute to the spiritual life of the organization, and incorporate World Vision’s core values into decisions within scope of the role.
  • Lead and grow the team. Coach, mentor, and develop a team of technical program managers; own their growth and build a consistent, high-performing discipline.
  • Own the operating model. Build and continuously improve the standards, cadences, and ways of working that make delivery repeatable and reliable, release after release.
  • Partner with the business. Sit beside marketing, fundraising, and finance partners to understand their goals and co-solution the digital approaches that get them there.
  • Steward the capability of roadmap. Partner with the AVP to shape a forward-looking roadmap of digital capabilities and steer each new request toward it.
  • Represent the discipline. Be the voice of technical program management across Digital and the wider organization, from delivery teams to senior leadership.
  • Stay close to the craft. Step into hands-on program work selectively, on the most complex and high-impact efforts where your experience makes the difference.

YOU BRING THESE SKILLS

  • 10\+ years of professional experience spanning technical, business, and program or delivery management, including leading, coaching, and developing people directly.
  • A track record of building or maturing a discipline, operating model, or practice, not just running within one.
  • Strength partnering with business stakeholders, shaping requirements, and co-solutioning goals into delivery.
  • A solid grounding in the software development lifecycle, IT program and project management, and modern delivery methods such as Agile and tools such as Jira.
  • The ability to see each request in the context of a bigger capability roadmap and shape work toward it.
  • A coach at heart who grows people and raises the bar around them.

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field, or equivalent (8 years) experience. In addition to education or education equivalent, requires 10 years of professional experience, including previous technical, business, and management experience. Requires demonstrated leadership and in-depth knowledge of technical program delivery, business operations, systems requirements, and the software development lifecycle.
