Role Description:

Scope:

The contractor will act as Financial Consultant and assist in payroll and billing

. Will also assist in implementing new programs as needed

Reports To:

Director of Clinical Review, Chief of Staff

Position Summary:

An Accountant manages financial records, ensures accuracy in reporting, and supports the organization’s financial health through analysis, compliance, and process improvement. This role is essential for maintaining transparent, timely, and compliant financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting \& Recordkeeping

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
  • Reconcile accounts, ledgers, and bank statements on a regular schedule.
  • Ensure all financial data is recorded in compliance with GAAP or other applicable standards.

General Accounting

  • Process journal entries, accruals, and month‑end and year‑end closing activities
  • Maintain the general ledger and support ongoing account maintenance.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed.

Budgeting \& Forecasting

  • Assist in developing annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
  • Monitor budget variances and provide insights to management.
  • Support financial planning and analysis activities.

Compliance \& Audit Support

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations.
  • Prepare documentation for internal and external audits.
  • Maintain organized financial records for audit readiness.

Tax Preparation \& Support

  • Assist with tax filings, including sales tax, payroll tax, and corporate tax documentation.
  • Coordinate with external tax advisors when necessary.

Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes.
  • Support implementation of new systems, tools, or automation initiatives.

Required Experience:

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage, SAP, or similar).
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis).

Soft Skills

  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Clear communication skills for working with cross functional teams.
  • Problem solving mindset and ability to work independently.

Preferred Skills / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 2–5\+ years of accounting experience (varies by level).
