Overview

We are supporting a renewable energy business in the search for a Senior Accountant to be based in Amsterdam. This role will support the finance function across an international group structure, with a focus on financial reporting, month-end close activities, reconciliations, and supporting the preparation of consolidated financial statements under IFRS.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong accountant looking to develop within a growing international renewable energy business.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting under IFRS
• Assist with the group consolidation process across multiple entities and jurisdictions
• Perform month-end and year-end close activities, including reconciliations and balance sheet reviews
• Support statutory reporting and audit preparation activities
• Ensure compliance with IFRS and internal accounting policies
• Work closely with local and group finance teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting
• Assist with improving financial controls, reporting processes, and documentation
• Support finance projects linked to growth, reporting improvements, and operational efficiency
• Assist with the preparation of technical accounting analysis where required

Candidate Requirements

• Qualified accountant or part-qualified (ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent)
• Experience in financial accounting, reporting, or audit
• Good understanding of IFRS
• Renewable energy experience preferred
• Experience working within an international or multi-entity environment would be beneficial
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Fluent English required

Preferred Background

• Big 4 or leading accounting firm training beneficial
• Exposure to both practice and industry environments advantageous
• Experience within renewable energy, infrastructure, or project-led businesses beneficial
