Senior Accountant

We are working with an owner/manager of 3 million square feet of commercial real estate assets to assist them in hiring a Senior Real Estate Accountant. The role is in-office, in the Detroit Metro market.

The ideal candidate will have substantial exposure to monthly closing processes, forecasting and budgeting, and customer billing. They will be organized and approach each issue with an analytical mindset. CAM Rec (common area maintenance reconciliations) experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure business transactions are reported in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
• CAM Reconciliations
• Lender reporting and covenant compliance
• Equity partner and investor reporting and distribution schedules
• Work closely with team members to assist with the month-end close
• Assist with the annual audit process including the draft of the financial statements and related notes
• Research and analyze expense variances for company management
• Assist with M\&A with regards to new property acquisitions.

Qualifications

• 5\+ years' of professional accounting experience
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics or equivalent experience
• CPA preferred but not necessary
