Position Summary:

Oversees the execution and direction of construction activities on various Habitat build sites. This role is responsible to lead and guide all construction volunteers, future homeowners, and subcontractors on site. The ideal candidate will have a strong skill set in carpentry, construction, interpersonal and communication skills, and organization. This position requires the ability to lift and move tools and materials on site and work hands-on to deliver completed projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the daily construction activities on the Habitat build sites assigned
  • Work hands-on to lead framing, siding, and finish work
  • Coordinate with the Volunteer Coordinator for all individual volunteers, build groups, future homeowners, etc. on site - ensure a safe, engaging, and positive environment
  • Assist the Construction Manager with the coordination of the build schedule for each site (volunteers, subcontractors, inspectors, suppliers, etc)
  • Oversees each site assigned and responsible for code compliance, site safety, Habitat quality standards, and inspections
  • Ensures that build sites have all necessary tools and materials for each job
  • Maintains all tools and equipment in proper working order
  • Keeps a clean worksite
  • Responsible for all decisions on site and provides direction for a productive workflow
  • Communicates all progress as well as potential problems or delays

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 3\+ years of experience in construction, management experience preferred.
  • Ability to lift and move tools and materials.
  • Knowledge of local building codes and construction best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills, and project management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • High level of professionalism.
  • Passion for Habitat for Humanity’s mission and community service.

Work Environment \& Compensation:

  • Reports to: Construction \& Facilities Operations Manager
  • Full-time: 40\+ hours per week
  • On site at various build site locations
  • Compensation: $43,000 - $60,000/year, depending on qualifications \& experience
  • Benefits: Holidays, PTO, health insurance, and 403(b) matching as outlined in the employee handbook
