Role Overview
We are seeking a
Business Intelligence / Data Analyst
to join the data and analytics team of a leading investment management firm.
The ideal candidate has
1–4 years of experience within investment management, asset management, private equity, financial services, or commercial real estate
and is highly proficient with
Power BI and SQL
.
This role is focused on building dashboards, analyzing financial and investment data, and partnering with business stakeholders to deliver reporting and insights. We are looking for someone who understands how to work with data in a financial environment and can turn complex datasets into clear, useful reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build, maintain, and enhance
Power BI dashboards and reports
used by investment and business teams.
- Work with
financial, fund, portfolio, investment, and operational data
to support recurring reporting and analysis.
- Write and maintain
SQL queries
to extract, transform, validate, and analyze data.
- Translate business requirements into dashboards, reports, KPIs, and other analytics solutions.
- Work directly with business stakeholders to understand reporting needs and provide actionable insights.
- Validate and reconcile data to ensure reporting is accurate and reliable.
- Analyze information across multiple data sources and troubleshoot discrepancies.
- Partner with data and technology teams to understand data sources and improve reporting processes.
- Help automate and improve existing reporting processes.
- Support monthly and quarterly reporting cycles.
- Document reporting logic, metrics, and data definitions.
Core Qualifications:
- 1–4 years of professional data analytics, BI, or reporting experience.
- Experience within
investment management, asset management, private equity, financial services, banking, or commercial real estate.
- Strong hands-on Power BI experience
— this is a key requirement.
- Strong
SQL
skills.
- Experience creating dashboards, reports, visualizations, and KPIs for business users.
- Comfortable working with
financial, investment, portfolio, fund, transaction, or similar business data
.
- Strong data validation and analytical skills.
- Ability to communicate with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
Huge Plus:
- Experience with
Snowflake
.
- Exposure to
Sigma Computing
.
- Familiarity with
dbt
or modern data transformation tools.
- Experience with investment/fund reporting or portfolio analytics.
- Exposure to private equity or commercial real estate data.
- Basic understanding of data modeling and data pipelines.
