POSITION: GUIDANCE COUNSELOR - MIDDLE SCHOOL

COMMENCING DATE: JULY 2026

Qualifications

Minimum:

• AA Certification in School Counseling Endorsement Area 436\.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong human relation skills.
• Good physical condition with ability to lift 10 pounds
• A philosophy of school counseling which includes the providing of:
• Academic leadership,
• Curriculum knowledge,
• A safe, orderly and effective school climate,
• High performance expectations,
• Parent and community involvement, and
• A standard operation procedure that promotes two-way communications and grass roots input in the decision-making process.

Additional Preferred

• Experience as a school counselor.
• Successful experience in managing a growing, modern comprehensive school guidance program.

SALARY: Commensurate with the Ocean Springs salary schedule for certified positions for the 2026-2027 school year.
