Job Overview

The Project Coordinator coordinates assigned projects for the Facilities and Construction organization, ensuring each project is accurately established within the capital system and submitted for funding approval with the highest level of quality and compliance. This role partners with requirements generators and internal and external stakeholders to support on-time, on-budget project execution. The Project Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for partner teams, providing guidance on corporate procurement policies, accounting procedures, and capital requirements.

What You Will Do

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, coordinating with partner teams and suppliers to ensure effective and efficient execution.
  • Partner with Senior Managers, Divisional Facilities to deliver approved maintenance projects on time and in alignment with operational needs.
  • Collaborate across Macy’s Inc. departments—including Facilities, Construction, Store Operations, Asset Protection, Strategic Procurement, Alarms, Building Management, Energy, and Capital Control—to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Create, track, and report on assigned projects to ensure adherence to budgets and timelines.
  • Monitor workflows, prioritize tasks, and streamline processes to maintain project momentum and ensure timely completion.
  • Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.
  • In addition to the essential duties mentioned above, other duties may be assigned.

Skills You Will Need

Project Coordination \& Execution:

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring accurate setup within capital systems, proper funding submission, and successful on-time, on-budget delivery.

Financial \& Capital Management:

Proficiency in tracking project budgets, monitoring financial commitments, supporting fiscal year close activities, and ensuring compliance with capital and accounting requirements.

Workflow \& Process Management:

Expertise in prioritizing tasks, monitoring project workflows, streamlining processes, and maintaining momentum to meet deadlines and business objectives.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Strong ability to partner with Facilities, Construction, Store Operations, Asset Protection, Strategic Procurement, and other internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.

Procurement \& Policy Compliance:

Knowledge of corporate procurement policies, accounting procedures, and capital requirements, with the ability to guide partner teams through compliance standards.

Analytical \& Problem-Solving Skills:

Ability to define problems, gather and analyze data, assess risks, and implement effective, practical solutions to support operational success.

Strategic Thinking:

Capability to align projects with organizational priorities and identify opportunities to enhance project management operations and efficiency.

Communication Skills:

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft reports, present to management and business partners, and interpret technical documents such as safety rules, operating procedures, and maintenance instructions.

Stakeholder Management \& Influence:

Ability to serve as a primary point of contact, build strong relationships, and effectively coordinate across diverse teams and suppliers.

Who You Are

  • Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field are encouraged to apply.
  • Regularly required to sit, talk, hear; use hands/fingers to touch, handle, and feel. Occasionally required to move about the workplace and reach with hands and arms. Requires close vision.
