HD-Tech is partnering with a rapidly growing professional services organisation to recruit a hands-on AI Engineer.

We are seeking a practical, production-focused AI Engineer to take ownership of Microsoft Copilot, Azure AI services, and enterprise automation platforms within a fast-scaling environment.

This is

not a research or data science role

. You will be responsible for building, integrating, and operating real-world AI systems that directly support users and business operations.

You will combine expertise across:

• Microsoft Copilot Studio \& AI agent development
• Azure cloud infrastructure and automation
• Python-based tooling and integrations
• Technical operations, support, and governance

You will act as the bridge between AI capability and business adoption, ensuring AI tools are secure, usable, and embedded into day-to-day operations.

You will join the IT and engineering function to support and evolve the organisation’s AI and technical platforms.

Your responsibilities will span AI development, platform administration, systems operations, and end-user support.

You will work closely with internal teams, leadership, and external partners to ensure high availability, strong governance, and continuous improvement of AI and cloud services.

🧠 Key Responsibilities

AI Engineering \& Copilot Development

• Design and deploy AI workflows using Microsoft Copilot Studio
• Build reusable AI agent skills and automation patterns (including MCP-based approaches)
• Create system prompts to route user intent to appropriate AI agents
• Develop integrations and lightweight interfaces for AI-enabled workflows
• Evaluate and integrate AI platforms including OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, and Microsoft AI services
• Maintain documentation and context engineering standards for AI systems

Azure \& Cloud Operations

• Support Azure-based infrastructure and services
• Assist with automation, deployments, and system monitoring
• Support Azure Virtual Machines and related cloud services
• Ensure secure and scalable environments for AI workloads
• Troubleshoot application and infrastructure issues across cloud systems

Enterprise Governance \& Security

• Implement and maintain RBAC and access control frameworks
• Support Responsible AI governance and usage controls
• Work with MSP/MSSP partners to support security operations
• Perform access reviews and ensure compliance with internal controls
• Maintain alignment with organisational policies and technical standards

Technical Operations \& End-User Support

• Provide technical support across business users and systems
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and platform access
• Monitor system performance, data quality, and service reliability
• Support reporting and operational data requirements
• Maintain technical documentation and process standards
• Contribute to IT roadmap planning and continuous improvement
• Provide occasional out-of-hours support when required

We are looking for a motivated, hands-on technologist who enjoys solving real-world problems across AI, cloud, and operational systems.

You should be comfortable switching between AI development, cloud operations, and user support.

✅ Essential Skills \& Experience

• Strong understanding of IT systems, hardware, and software environments
• Proven experience in technical troubleshooting and support
• Strong Windows and Microsoft 365 knowledge
• 3–4 years’ experience in Python (or equivalent development experience)
• Good understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP)
• Strong communication and stakeholder support skills
• High attention to detail and structured working approach

⭐ Desirable Skills

• Microsoft Copilot Studio or AI platform experience
• Azure administration or development experience
• PowerShell or other scripting experience
• Experience with Azure Virtual Machines
• Familiarity with AI platforms (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini)
• Systems integration experience
• Experience with Jira or similar tooling
• Understanding of SDLC and development standards
• Background in IT operations, DevOps, or service desk environments
• Experience working with MSPs or external technical partners
• Ability to manage multiple technical priorities simultaneously
• Exposure to AI governance or Responsible AI frameworks
