Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join the Houston team. This role will manage contractual processes for major electrical construction projects nationwide, providing strategic oversight, risk mitigation, and contract compliance.
A background as in-house counsel is a plus, particularly for candidates who have supported construction or design-build organizations. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a fast-growing, innovative contractor on high-profile projects that shape industries and communities across the country.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate construction contracts, subcontracts, and procurement agreements.
- Provide guidance on contractual obligations, risk management, and compliance with company policies and industry standards.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and leadership to resolve contractual disputes and ensure smooth project execution.
- Advise on legal and business implications of project terms and change orders.
- Maintain contract documentation, track obligations, and ensure timely renewals or amendments.
- (If applicable) Provide in-house counsel support, including risk assessment, contract interpretation, and legal advice for construction projects.
Qualifications
Required:
- Proven experience managing contracts in the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of construction agreements, subcontracts, and change order processes.
- Ability to interpret, negotiate, and enforce complex contractual terms.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred:
- Experience as in-house counsel within construction, engineering, or design-build firms.
- Familiarity with federal, state, and local construction regulations.
- Exposure to risk management, claims resolution, or litigation support related to construction contracts.
