Job Description
We are seeking a
Mechanical Engineer
to join one of our clients engineering teams on a
contract‑to‑hire basis
. In this role, you will design, analyze, and optimize mechanical and piping systems that meet project requirements, customer expectations, and industry standards. You’ll apply sound engineering principles to deliver reliable, constructible, and high‑performance solutions while collaborating closely with cross‑functional partners.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys hands‑on design, technical problem‑solving, and working in a collaborative project environment—with the potential to convert to a full‑time role.
What You’ll Do
- Design and develop mechanical and piping systems using
AutoCAD, Plant3D, and/or CADWorx
- Perform
stress analysis, friction loss calculations, and hydraulic analysis
to evaluate system performance
- Conduct
heat transfer analysis
to ensure safe and efficient thermal management
- Apply engineering calculations and simulations to optimize system reliability, safety, and constructability
- Collaborate with
civil/structural, electrical, QA, and project management
teams to ensure integrated designs
- Support design reviews, troubleshoot engineering challenges, and provide technical recommendations
- Prepare and maintain
technical documentation, drawings, reports, and specifications
- Ensure designs comply with applicable
codes, standards, and regulatory requirements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in
Mechanical Engineering
or related engineering discipline
- 5\+ years
of mechanical engineering design and development experience
- Proficiency with
AutoCAD
and
Plant3D or CADWorx
- Experience performing
friction loss calculations, system hydraulics analysis, and stress analysis
- Strong understanding of
heat transfer principles
and mechanical system behavior
- Demonstrated ability to apply analytical methods to solve complex engineering problems
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Professional Engineer (PE)
license or equivalent
- Experience with advanced simulation tools such as
FEA, CAESAR II, and/or AFT Fathom
- Familiarity with
material selection for chemical compatibility
- Experience working in
multidisciplinary, project‑based engineering environments
