Guidance Counselor

We are looking for a Guidance Counselor to join our amazing community of teachers and learners at Hichborn Middle School/Penobscot Valley High School.

Interested candidates wishing to apply for this position should hold a valid Maine Teaching certificate with a 075 endorsement.

The successful candidate will be experienced in college and career exploration, education software, IEP and 504 meetings, and be able to establish priorities. The counselor position will be shared between the middle school and the high school and is responsible for organizing and establishing the master schedule.

This counselor position requires effective communication skills, knowledge of standards-based learning, proficiency-based assessment, knowledge of the current Maine standards, knowledge of differentiated instructional practices, effective classroom management, self-initiative, a growth mindset, and a collaborative work approach.
