Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Product Designer
In This Role, You Will
- Lead complex initiatives including those that provide product usability, evaluation, and support to product development teams
- Develop and execute customer experience solutions for online applications and websites
- Be accountable for overseeing the execution of strategic design projects that influence design and strategic direction of the company
- Review and analyze complex industry leading user interface design solutions that require the evaluation of multiple factors
- Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices and standards
- Manage the execution of strategic design projects that influence design and strategic direction of the company
- Serve as design advocate with the ability to forecast and assess industry trends and their impact on the company's product design alternatives
- Build and enhance working relationships within the information and interface design function and community outside of the company
- Provide product usability, evaluation, and support to product development teams
- Lead customer experience strategy for platforms and products
- Influence roadmaps and business decisions by providing customer experience considerations and participate in roadmap planning and virtual teams
- Make decisions in customer experience strategy for platforms and products requiring understanding of the function and compliance requirements
- Present designs and key milestone deliverables to peers and executive level stakeholder
- Influence roadmaps and business decisions by providing customer experience considerations
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
Required Qualifications
- 5\+ years of Online and Digital Product Design, Information Sciences, Graphic, and Visual Arts experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications
- 4\+ years of experience in UX, product design, or interaction design, with at least 3\+ years in a lead or principal role driving end-to-end design for complex digital products
- Strong expertise in user-centered design practices, including user research, journey mapping, information architecture, interaction design, and usability testing
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex data, Gen AI, AI/ML, or technical workflows into intuitive, human-centered experiences
- Hands-on proficiency with modern design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, Axure, or equivalent
- Experience establishing and evolving design systems, component libraries, and accessibility standards across multiple products and teams
- Ability to partner effectively with product managers, engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to influence product strategy and execution
- Strong storytelling and executive-level communication skills, with the ability to present design rationale, trade-offs, and insights to senior leadership
- Experience mentoring designers, conducting design reviews, and raising the overall design maturity of teams
- Familiarity with Agile / Lean product development methodologies and working within fast-paced, iterative delivery environments
- Knowledge of designing for data-heavy applications, dashboards, and analytics experiences is strongly preferred
- Exposure to AI-driven user experiences (e.g., recommendations, copilots, automation, decision support) is a plus
