About the Opportunity

A global leader in high-performance industrial coatings is seeking a strategic and commercially focused

Vice President of Marketing \& Product Management

to lead the organization's marketing, product management, commercialization, and business development initiatives.

This executive leadership role will be responsible for driving market growth, strengthening competitive positioning, and accelerating product adoption across industrial and marine markets.

The ideal candidate combines deep

coatings industry expertise

with proven success leading cross-functional teams spanning marketing, product management, sales, R\&D, and operations.

This position offers the opportunity to influence company strategy, shape product direction, and drive sustainable revenue growth within a highly technical B2B environment.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute the company's global marketing and product strategy to support growth objectives and market expansion.
  • Define and refine market positioning, value propositions, and go-to-market strategies across multiple industrial segments.
  • Identify new market opportunities, competitive advantages, and growth initiatives through market intelligence and customer insights.
  • Serve as a key member of the leadership team, helping shape overall business strategy and long-term growth plans.

Product Management \& Commercialization

  • Lead all product management activities, including market analysis, product positioning, pricing strategy, and lifecycle management.
  • Drive cross-functional product commercialization efforts from concept through launch and market adoption.
  • Partner closely with R\&D, Operations, and Sales to align product development with customer needs and business objectives.
  • Establish structured new product introduction and go-to-market processes.

Marketing \& Demand Generation

  • Lead integrated marketing programs that build brand awareness, generate demand, and support revenue growth.
  • Develop marketing strategies that effectively communicate technical value propositions to targeted industrial customers.
  • Oversee digital marketing, CRM strategy, lead generation initiatives, and sales enablement tools.
  • Ensure marketing investments are measurable and contribute to pipeline development and business performance.

Channel \& Business Development

  • Develop and strengthen relationships with distributors, agents, strategic partners, and key customers.
  • Create channel marketing programs that support growth and improve market penetration.
  • Collaborate with commercial teams on strategic account development and market expansion initiatives.
  • Identify partnership, acquisition, and adjacent market opportunities that support long-term growth.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Lead and develop high-performing teams across marketing, product management, and commercialization functions.
  • Foster strong collaboration among Sales, R\&D, Operations, Finance, and Executive Leadership.
  • Establish performance metrics, KPIs, and accountability measures across all areas of responsibility.
  • Build organizational capabilities that support future growth and innovation.

Budget \& Performance Management

  • Own annual marketing and product management budgets.
  • Monitor key business metrics including revenue growth, market share, product adoption, pipeline development, and ROI.
  • Leverage customer, market, and competitive insights to continuously refine strategy and execution.

Qualifications

Required Experience

  • 10\+ years of progressive leadership experience in marketing, product management, business development, or commercial leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated success within the

coatings, specialty chemicals, industrial manufacturing, or related technical products industry

.

  • Proven experience leading cross-functional teams in complex B2B environments.
  • Track record developing and executing growth strategies that drive revenue, profitability, and market expansion.
  • Experience managing product portfolios, pricing strategies, and commercialization efforts.
  • Strong understanding of industrial distribution channels and channel partner management.
  • Experience collaborating with technical, engineering, and R\&D teams.

Preferred Experience

  • Coatings industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience within marine, industrial, protective, specialty, or performance coatings markets.
  • Prior responsibility for both product management and commercial marketing functions.
  • Sales leadership or business development experience.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • MBA or advanced business degree preferred.
