About The Opportunity
As a
Fitout Tradesperson
for Austal Defence Australia (ADA), you'll be responsible for completing onboard fitout installations across defence vessel projects. Working within the Production Fitout team, you'll deliver high-quality workmanship while maintaining safety, efficiency and productivity in a fast-paced shipbuilding environment.

What's Involved
- Installing cabinets, bulkheads, flooring, ceilings and final fitout finishes onboard vessels.
- Interpreting technical drawings, specifications and project documentation.
- Using hand tools, power tools and trade equipment safely and effectively.
- Maintaining quality standards, productivity targets and safe work practices.
- Performing general housekeeping and maintaining a clean work area.
- Working collaboratively with supervisors and team members to meet project schedules.
You'll Need
- A relevant trade qualification and Construction Safety Induction (White Card).
- Experience as a Shipwright, Cabinet Maker, Carpenter/Joiner, Shopfitter, or similar trade.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, plans and documentation.
- Confidence using hand tools, power tools and associated trade equipment safely.
- Sound knowledge of cabinetry installation, cabinet making, shipwright techniques or fitout works.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work productively with minimal supervision and manage competing priorities.
