Job Description

Hanson Consulting Group is seeking an experienced

Marketing Analyst

to join our client’s publishing team in the gaming industry!

Our client's team has access to a large amount of unorganized information from multiple internal and external sources, including web traffic, streaming hours, and newsletter open rates, but is not currently leveraging this data to make informed decisions. The initial goal of this role will be to create reports that support weekly and monthly OKRs and provide actionable insights for the team.

Documentation outlining how new reports are generated will be essential, along with identifying opportunities to automate reporting processes in the future. At a high level, our client is seeking someone with a strong understanding of video game marketing and industry knowledge to help refine publishing processes and strategy.

This role will also be responsible for managing the Gamesight attribution platform. After conducting initial discovery work to identify existing data pipelines and integrations, the Marketing Analyst will collaborate with Gamesight staff to tailor the platform to our client's needs. Once Gamesight is fully operational, the role will involve consolidating data from Gamesight, Level Up, and Google Analytics into comprehensive final reports.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Creating analytics reports for marketing initiatives and track player patterns and engagement.
  • Proactively resolving discrepancies and troubleshooting inaccuracies between multiple data sources to identify meaningful trends.
  • Creating analysis reports and identifying optimizations for the publishing organization that track progress towards established KPIs.
  • Identifying missing data and building solutions incorporating them into future analysis.
  • Embrace ad-hoc data requests and foster a basic understanding of each client's data sources.
  • Bridging the gap between analytics expertise with the needs of the Publishing organization to generate trend reports and optimization strategies.

Desired Skills \& Experience:

  • 1-3\+ years of online marketing, web analytics, or research experience.
  • Knowledge of video game marketing and game development.
  • Proficiency in creating data visualizations that the story of players.
  • Direct experience in online direct marketing or online media performance analysis.
  • Familiarity with tools like Level Up, Gamesight and Google Analytics.
  • A desire to find the right data from the right sources to help explain player behavior.
  • Being awesome and a force multiplier for the Publishing organization.
  • Coding skills in R/SQL/Python is a bonus.
