Job Description

What You’ll Do

You’ll join a small, driven engineering team at a growing software company focused on modernizing point-of-sale and operations software for lumberyards and building materials suppliers. As a Software Engineer (full-stack focus possible), you’ll work across product and engineering: defining features, building end-to-end solutions, and partnering directly with customers during onboarding and support. Expect to own features from design through iteration and participate in on-call rotation as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute and drive onboarding of new stores and customers onto the platform
  • Work directly with customers to triage issues, gather feedback, and build practical product improvements
  • Own features end-to-end (design → build → test → deploy → iterate)
  • Help define product requirements and technical solutions with product and design partners
  • Develop deep domain knowledge of the client’s software and how it supports customers’ workflows
  • Participate in on-call support and incident response when needed
  • Collaborate in pair programming, design discussions, and code reviews

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • 3\+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a growth mindset
  • Strength in at least one area: backend (Java, Spring, SQL) or frontend (JavaScript/TypeScript, React)
  • Familiarity with APIs and modern web development practices
  • Experience or familiarity with AI development tools and how they integrate into product workflows

Nice to Have

  • Experience building SaaS, workflow-heavy, or point-of-sale applications
  • Familiarity with Spring Boot, GraphQL, AWS, Heroku, or similar cloud tools
  • Startup experience or a preference for early-stage environments
  • Experience working directly with customers or supporting production systems in the field

Location \& Work Arrangement

  • Location: Los Angeles Metropolitan Area (role supports telecommute / remote work)
  • Candidate must be authorized to work in the U.S. and able to participate in occasional on-site or customer-facing work when required.

  • Short take-home or pair-programming exercise for some candidates
  • Final interview with engineering/product leadership
