About The Role
The Senior Salesforce Engineer for Financial Services Cloud at Midland States Bank plays a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining Salesforce-based solutions tailored to the banking and financial services industry. This position is responsible for creating scalable, secure, and compliant Salesforce solutions that support business objectives and enhance operational efficiency. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to evaluate technical requirements, recommend suitable solutions, and implement automation and integrations that streamline processes. The Senior Salesforce Engineer will serve as a subject matter expert, providing technical mentorship to junior team members and ensuring best practices are followed. This position requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of Salesforce platforms, especially within financial services, and a commitment to continuous learning to stay current with industry trends and platform updates.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A minimum of seven years of hands-on Salesforce experience is required, with at least three years specializing in Financial Services Cloud or similar financial implementations. Experience with Salesforce Industries OmniStudio and deploying solutions within banking environments is essential. Candidates should have a strong understanding of the Salesforce tech stack, including administration, Apex, Lightning components, JavaScript, and Visualforce. Salesforce certifications such as Admin, Advanced Admin, or Platform Developer are preferred. Additional skills include proficiency in analysis and reporting tools like Tableau, Salesforce Reports, SAS BI, or MS BI. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills are necessary, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. Knowledge of API integrations, database architecture, and ITIL or SDLC methodologies will be advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Design and architect scalable Salesforce Financial Services Cloud solutions aligned with business needs, ensuring compliance and security standards are met.
- Evaluate and recommend technical solutions, including AppExchange products, to enhance system functionality and user experience.
- Manage Salesforce system administration tasks such as creating and maintaining custom objects, fields, layouts, and validation rules.
- Implement automation processes including workflows, approval processes, and business rules to optimize operational efficiency.
- Ensure data governance through audits, data management practices, and adherence to quality standards.
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans to validate solutions before deployment.
- Lead Salesforce integrations, ensuring seamless data flow and system interoperability across various platforms.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to assess integration requirements and maintain existing implementations.
- Provide technical mentorship to junior team members, fostering a knowledge-sharing environment and promoting best practices.
- Support automation initiatives across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Marketing Cloud to improve customer engagement and sales processes.
- Share industry best practices, emerging trends, and new Salesforce features with the team to enhance overall capabilities.
- Maintain current knowledge of Salesforce platform updates and industry standards to ensure solutions remain cutting-edge.
- Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Occasionally travel for training sessions, team meetings, and client engagements as needed, including work in Midland’s offices to support internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), and other relevant policies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support organizational goals and project needs.
